Properties
VESTEROL® GEL 28OS is a thixotropic silane emulsion. It penetrates deep into the building material and ensures permanent water repellency, even with dense building materials such as concrete. Due to its creamy consistency, VESTEROL® GEL 28OS can be applied in one operation, in the desired layer thickness, without loss. The initially whitish impregnation layer later disappears completely. The reaction of the water repellent is completely finished after about 4 weeks. Accordingly, the beading effect also occurs with a time delay. The water-repellent effect is enhanced by repeated rainfall.- driving rain-proof

Properties/tests
- The substrate must be dry, load-bearing, absorbent, free of dust, formwork oil or other release agents.
Pretreatment
- Fill damaged joints, flaws and cracks over 0.5 mm before impregnation.
- Heavy contamination from industrial and soot deposits, cement residue, dust, loose particles etc. must be removed.
- Protect adjacent components that should not be wetted.
- The substrate to be impregnated must be prevented from becoming damp on the back.

Processing
- The product can be applied with a brush, roller, tassel or airless spraying equipment. Ensure that the consumption quantities are observed during application.
- When processing with airless sprayers, observe the following guide values:
Pressure: 50 – 60 bar
Nozzle: 0.023 inch, 50° spray angle - The treated surfaces must be protected from rain until the water repellent has been absorbed.
Cleaning the tools
- Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after use.
Notes
- Maintain a processing temperature of +5 °C to +35 °C.
- The full effectiveness of the impregnation is achieved after approx. 4 weeks.
- To ensure permanent water repellency, the façade must be re-impregnated after approx. 15 years (depending on the building material).
- The service life of the impregnation is dependent on the application quantity, pore volume, penetration depth and local weather conditions.
- Only for vertical and inclined surfaces.
- Not for sealing against pressing water.
- Surface irritation may occur on dense substrates such as glazed clinker or polished bricks. Carry out preliminary tests.
- A preliminary test must be carried out on critical substrates.
