Features
Properties
INTRASIT® DS1 54Z is a cementitious, easy-to-use restoration slurry with high sulphate resistance. Waterproofing made of INTRASIT® DS1 54Z has high sealing and strength properties and therefore good resistance to mechanical loads and chemical attack, e.g. from de-icing salts, faeces and aggressive substances commonly found in the ground- sulphate-resistant
- frost-resistant
- impermeable
- polymer-modified
- vapour-permeable
Applications
- Damp rooms, bathrooms, showers
- Silos, sewage treatment plants, shafts
- Bases
- Concrete, screed, masonry
- Subsequent waterproofing indoors and outdoors
- Rear moisture protection and intermediate sealing against moisture acting from the rear in accordance with DIN 18533 in the area of the external basement waterproofing made of PMBC and FPD
Composition
- Standard cements
- Mineral aggregates

Substrate
Properties/tests
- The substrates must be firm, level, load-bearing and free from frost, dust, dirt and plaster.
Pretreatment
- Thoroughly pre-wet absorbent substrates so that no water can be drawn out of the sealing slurry.
- The surfaces to be sealed must be free of cracks; if necessary, chisel out cracks and close them with cement mortar or inject them with injection resin.
- Repair defects, fill over gravel pockets. Re-point mortar joints in the masonry if necessary. In the case of irregular masonry with numerous projections and imperfections, apply INTRASIT SM 54Z leveling plaster.
- Break or chamfer all edges at 45° (chamfer width ≥ 3 cm). Round off all corners with a chamfer with a radius of at least 3 cm.
- Use in combination with INTRASIT VK 10A for critical wall and base waterproofing in exterior and interior areas, e.g. where there is moisture and/or salt on the back.
Processing
Processing
- Slowly sprinkle dry mortar into clear water in a clean mixing vessel while stirring vigorously until a lump-free mass is formed.
- Recommended mixing ratio for painting and slurrying: 1 RT water : 3 – 3.5 RT INTRASIT DS1 54Z or 1 GT water : 4 GT powder
- INTRASIT DS1 54Z can be mixed with INTRASIT Rasant 55Z to accelerate setting in the case of substrates exposed to high levels of moisture. Recommended mixing ratio: 3 : 1 to 1 : 1 GT.
- Apply the slurry with a trowel in at least 2 coats. Apply the 1st coat thickly and surface-tight. Apply the 2nd coat after approx. 6 hours, at the latest after 24 hours.
- For waterproofing work with INTRASIT VK 10A, the waterproofing slurry is applied twice, alternating with the silicification fresh in fresh (starting with INTRASIT VK 10A).
Cleaning the tools
- Clean tools immediately after use with water.
- Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.
Notes
- Maintain a processing temperature of +2 °C to +30 °C.
- Do not penetrate the waterproofing with nails or dowels.
- Do not mix with other building materials.
