Features
Properties
IMBERAL® BES 10B is a solvent-free protective and sealing coating based on bitumen emulsion. It is resistant to the aggressive substances normally found in soil and does not pollute groundwater. As an additive, it improves the workability of mortar and achieves good watertightness by reducing the depth of water penetration. The resistance to de-icing salts is increased. Improves the abrasion resistance of screeds.- sprayable
- easy to process
- highly alkali-resistant
- plasticizing
- solvent-free
Applications
- Residential and commercial buildings
- Garages
- Civil engineering and shaft construction
Composition
- bitumen
- emulsifiers
- functional fillers
Processing
Substrate
Properties/tests
- The substrate must be solid, stable, dry and free of dust, dirt and mortar residue.
- The substrate may be slightly damp.
Pretreatment
- Thoroughly clean the sole protrusions. Completely remove sintered layers and soiling.
Processing
Processing
- Protective, sealing or primer coat:
1. As a primer or base coat, dilute 1 : 10 with water.
2. Apply with a roller, brush, tassel or AIRLESS spraying in one operation.
3. This is followed by 3 top coats. - Additive for barrier plaster:
To achieve good watertightness.
1. Add 20 to 30 % IMBERAL BES 10B to the plaster mixing water. Recommended mixing ratio: 1 RT cement : 3 RT sand
2. Application is carried out with the usual plastering tools.
3. Roughly rub off the barrier plaster.
4. The abraded plaster can be painted over immediately after setting with IMBERAL BES 10B diluted with up to 20 % water. - Additive for masonry mortar:
1. Add 20 to 30 % IMBERAL BES 10B to the bituminous masonry mortar, depending on the water penetration.
2. Application is carried out with the usual masonry tools. - Additive for screed:
1. 3 to 4 RT screed mixing water add 1 RT IMBERAL BES 10B. Recommended mixing ratio: 1 RT cement : 3 to 4 RT sand 0-7 mm depending on load and layer thickness
2. Apply with the usual screed tools.
Cleaning the tools
- Clean all tools and equipment with water immediately after use.
Notes
- During the construction phase, no water must get between the substrate and waterproofing.
- Protect the coating from moisture during the drying process.
- Drainage in accordance with DIN 4095 is permissible before sealing.
- Water from the cellar floor or water collected from the floor slabs and rainwater downpipes that are not yet connected must be prevented from running behind the waterproofing layer. No cohesive soils (containing clay) may come into contact with the waterproofing.
- No cohesive soils (containing clay) may come into contact with the waterproofing. The waterproofing must be protected against damage (protective layers/utility layers in accordance with DIN 4095, polystyrene drain panels with filter fleece).
- Drainage or thermal insulation boards can be bonded to the hardened waterproofing using a soft bitumen paste such as IMBERAL BEP-F 20B. Corrugated or dimpled sheets are unsuitable.
- Maintain a processing temperature of +5 °C to +35 °C.
- Do not process in direct sunlight.
- Fresh material can be removed with water, dried material can only be removed with solvents.
- Barrier plasters must not be smoothed, but must be rubbed off roughly.
