Properties/tests

• The substrate must be dry, load-bearing, clean, dust-free and free of adhesion-reducing residues, release agents, efflorescence and sintered coatings.

Pretreatment

• For the appropriate substrate preparation, please refer to the information in the technical data sheets for the individual components in the HADALAN Velo balcony system HADALAN Velo-Base and HADALAN Velo-Seal.

Processing

• Application as a sealant: The entire hardener component is added to the resin component. Use a suitable stirrer (approx. 400 rpm) with DLX stirrer to mix the components homogeneously. The mixing time is at least 2 minutes. Remove the little mixed components adhering to the container wall, base and stirrer and add them to the mix. The material is then transferred to a clean mixing vessel (repotted) and mixed thoroughly again.
• After mixing, HADALAN Velo-Flex is applied evenly and film-forming to the substrate to be sealed with HADALAN Velo-Seal using a special polyamide roller for floor coatings or a suitable tool.
• Slip resistance: If required, approx. 3 % plastic granulate HADALAN KG 57DD can be added to the HADALAN Velo-Flex sealant.

Cleaning the tools

• Clean tools immediately after use with HADALAN EPV 38L.
• Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

Notes

• Due to the fast reaction time of the material, ensure that the material is processed quickly. We recommend scheduling at least two employees for the application. More for larger areas. Larger areas should be divided into sections. Tools must be cleaned or replaced regularly using HADALAN EPV 38L. Only prepare as much material as can be applied within the pot life.
• The maximum coating intervals of 24 hours must be observed.
• High humidity accelerates, low humidity delays the solidification process.
• The substrate temperature must be at least 3 °C above the dew point temperature during application and curing.
• Process the material quickly.
• Processing beyond the pot life leads to poor results in terms of film strength and visual impression.
• Only use materials from one batch.
• With coating systems that can be applied by hand traces of application may remain visible This applies in particular to grazing light or larger contiguous areas, create a sample area if necessary.
• To maintain the surface quality of the coating, the use of care products and regular cleaning of the floors is recommended (see HADALAN epoxy resin flooring care instructions).
