Substrate

Properties/tests

• The substrate must be dry, dust-free and free of all separating substances.
• New asphalt and concrete can be covered after a waiting period of 28 days.

Pretreatment

• Cracks must be pre-treated.
• Expansion joints must be incorporated into the top layer.
• Asphalt surfaces can be treated directly.
• Rising damp in the substrate must be ruled out. Substrates where moisture penetration from the rear cannot be ruled out must be pretreated with HADALAN EG145 13E.

Processing

Processing

• Components A + B are homogeneously mixed together using a mechanical agitator (300 – 400 rpm) (2 minutes stirring time). The mixed material is then repotted and stirred again.
• Pour HADALAN KS 13P quickly onto the substrate and spread homogeneously with a water scraper and polyamide roller special. Alternatively, a fine toothed strip, e.g. TKB S8, can be used on flat surfaces. Only apply as much adhesive layer as can be covered with bedding material within the working time of 30 minutes.
• The grit is spread evenly in excess into the fresh adhesive layer. It may be necessary to continue spreading until the adhesive starts to harden.
• The excess grit can be swept off the next day.
• Processing as mortar:
  The filler HADALAN FGM012 57M is homogeneously mixed into the previously mixed HADALAN KS 13P compound at a ratio of 1:20. Only mix as much material as can be processed within 30 minutes. The material is then smoothed into the fresh adhesive layer.

Drying / Hardening

• The surfaces can be walked on after 24 hours and are fully loadable after 3 days.

Cleaning the tools

• Clean tools immediately after use with HADALAN EPV 38L.
• Hardened material can only be removed mechanically.

Notes

• Maintain a processing temperature of +10 °C to +30 °C.
• High temperatures accelerate, low temperatures delay the solidification and curing process.
• Rising damp must be excluded.
• The fresh bedding layer must be protected from moisture until it has hardened.
• Asphalt qualities can vary greatly in practice. Test areas should be created if necessary.
