FAB Joint sealing tape 89ZH
- Joint sealing tape, highly elastic, hot-air weldable
- for covering and sealing construction joints, expansion joints and construction joints in areas in contact with the ground
- bonding to the component, usually with KMB or elastic sealing slurry
- good chemical resistance
Features
Properties
IMBERAL® FAB 89ZH is a highly elastic, hot air-weldable sealing tape with a removable non-woven strip and good chemical resistance. The special edge structure ensures very good integration into the respective sealing compound.- good chemical resistance
- highly elastic
- hot-air weldable
Applications
- Structural separation joints
- Construction joints
- Waterproofing with KMBs
- Sealing with mineral flexible sealing slurries
Composition
- Ageing resistant elastomer
- Fleece
Processing
Substrate
Properties/tests
- The substrate must be prepared in accordance with the processing guidelines of the waterproofing and/or bonding material to be used. As a rule, the substrate must be load-bearing and free of dust, dirt and other adhesion-reducing substances.
Processing
Processing
- Cut the required length of tape.
- Pre-fill the joint edges, e.g. with KMB. Press the edges of the tape into the fresh waterproofing.
- Then coat the edges of the tape with KMB or similar. The grey plastic should be covered in a width of about 2 cm.
- To glue the tapes together, heat the plastic with a hot air gun until it liquefies. The second part of the tape is pressed into this liquid plastic (use a firm base). When it has cooled down, the connection is tension-proof and watertight.
- If tensile forces are transmitted to the tape, it is recommended to bond the tape to the substrate with epoxy resin HADALAN® MBH 12E in combination with actuator HADALAN® SM 57DD.
- After completion of the waterproofing work, peel the fleece cover off the joint cover tape to achieve a clean and accurate joint appearance.
- The joint seal must always be protected before backfilling so that no compressive and/or tensile forces can act on the tape.
Notes
- Ensure homogeneous binding of the tape edges.
- Do not completely cover the joint tape with the respective waterproofing, leave a sufficiently large expansion zone.
- Tensile forces should not be transmitted to the tape to avoid tearing or cracking in the bonding zone.
- The joint tape must be protected with suitable protective systems before backfilling the excavation pit.
- Observe the processing instructions of the respective waterproofing product used.
- In areas that are not covered with soil, the joint cover strip must be protected from the weather. Make sure that the protection does not restrict the functionality.
